Min Shawana O. Emehel

Shawana began her experience in church ministry as an active member of her home church in Zebulon, NC, where she was licensed to preach in January 2000. Her service in ministry over the years has included foreign mission trips to Haiti and serving as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, prison ministry volunteer, community family assistance volunteer and a tutor for a local youth enrichment program.

She currently serves as one of the Associate Ministers at Ebenezer United Church of Christ and is the Director of Christian Education, which supports Sunday School Classes, Enrichment Elective Classes and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoys serving with Ebenezer’s Youth Ministry as a Children’s Church teacher and providing assistance with special youth programs.
Shawana received an Associate’s degree in Computer Science from Hardbarger Junior College of Business; a BS degree in Business Management from Shaw University and has nearly 20 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry. She is married to Clement Emehel, and they are the proud parents of their daughter, Grace.
